RIP Martin and Fred - wishing you a heavenly Fernwood 2 night, together!
5:01 new sportscaster Ms. Jane Tiffany
OMG I remember watching this when it first aired. Not many shows stand up over so many years, although the 70s did have some groundbreaking shows.
Tim and Eric owe much to Fernwood.
Fantastic Pre-Between 2 Ferns absurdism. Watched these live in 1980 (?) I was a student @ Art Center/Pasadena 1978-80. Martin was also an illustrator -
It would have been 1977 for Fernwood. America 2 Night, the second season was 1978. Do you remember how many episodes you saw live?
I watched these live back in college (Art Center - Pasadena) Martin Mull was an illustrator/artist as well and I purchased a few of his card/images. I was pretty stoned (recommended) and loved them. Fantastic - pre-between 2 ferns absurdism!
Rhode Island School of Design
RIP Mr Mull, you were a treat, thanks for the laughs. Kenneth Mars is pure gold, as WD "Bud" Pride, always looked forward to him being a guest.
Thank you!
For whatever reasons, this episode audio seems to have high-end rolloff😕
And good night to Martin Mull 1943-2024. Remember, kids: Santa doesn't cop out on dope.
Hilarious episode! One of the best.
😂😂😂😂 thanks, lost Gems.
RIP Martin Mull. A great musician and the host of this funny, funny, show!
Wow! Dabney Coleman AND Martin Mull recently died. May 15 2924 for DB and MM June 27, 2024!
"the listed number, which is listed" brought to you be the Department of Redundancy Department!
I used to watch this when it was first broadcast back in the good old days. Very funny show for the times.
The 70's were unique, weren't they? Sanford and Son, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, etc. I miss those days, before sanitizing.
Charlie O'Donnell On Voiceover 21:09
11:02 "Mr. Television" LOL
I can't help but feel this show influenced Bob Newhart's talk show, "Vermont Today".
To those unaware this is a Mary Hartman! Mary Hartman! spinoff that broadcast after Mary Hartman ended. It has never had an official release on any home format so thanks to the uploader for this classic and first talk show parody!!
Check out the old TV tray their coffee is on! I had several different trays like that with various comic and movie art!! When one gets rusty time for a new one!!
Thanks for all the laughs Martin, you and Fred Willard will be truly missed. Rest in peace Martin.
LMAO! Thank you!
Dabney
3:45 very special page-turner
They couldn't get away with some of the subjects today that they featured back then.
You should let the commercials run. They would be interesting!
I see Noah Hathaway as Randy(sitting between the two girls). This was a few months before he got the role of Boxey on Battlestar Galactica.
RIP Martin Mull🙏🏻😔🙏🏻
The doctor's glib comment about a workplace shooting was prescient.
I still laugh at this.
I love his aloha shirt here. RIP Martin.
Martin Mull RIP
EVs were considered ridiculous in 1977.
Martin Mull, Fred Willard, Frank De Vol AND Dabney Coleman ⭐️ Eternal Rest Be Ever Theirs ✨🙏🏻✨
Still hilarious after all these years. RIP legend.
Was this all scripted or was some of this ad-libbed?
Barth held himself hostage long before OJ did. He was way ahead of his time.
Three episodes in & I'm hooked. Hilarious stuff. RIP Martin, and thank you.
Man, I'd forgotten how good these shows are! Mull's Barth Gimble was one of TV's great sleazebag characters, and Fred Willard's timing was perfect! The Tony Roletti shows were among the best. Sorry Martin left us, but Fernwood 2Night is his most wonderful legacies.
Young Tom Waits can get it!
Dabney Coleman!
The Rev. was Rookie Karoka in that Peter O'toole picture " My Favorite Year". I knew I recognized him from someplace. Good movie.
Luv it... Talk to a JEW 😛👍🏻👍🏻
Mahler plays Mozart. The pianist is Bruce Mahler who predates a similar scene from Amadeus. He’s was a cast member on the SNL-like show on ABC called “Friday’s” which also had Michael Richards and Larry David in the cast. I miss both shows. RIP both Martin Mull and Fred Willard. Mull’s ‘History of White People’ was a great little book for the time, playing (as he always did) on his WASPish persona.
How many kids of today would understand the Dialing for Dentures quip?
Tony is absolutely horrible and that's what makes him so great.
Tony!. The man, the legend, the rug. Enough said. I'm 73, balding, want great hairpiece like Tony's.
I would love to know what percentage of the chin device story was ad-lib LOL
